Location: Flahdaw | Has anyone ever tried one of these with an acoustic guitar. I can see some HUGE benefits to having one of these if they work and sound clean. I could comfortably sing more songs dropped down a step or two. (or 3) |

Location: closely held secret | Bob, the problem I've found doing this with an acoustic guitar is, well, you can hear the guitar. With an electric, the acoustic volume is so low it's easily drowned out by the amp. Not so much with an acoustic. I've tried using similar units, and it's like trying to play and sing next to someone else playing the same song - in a different key.
I guess if you had the amplified sound up loud enough... |

Location: Boise, Idaho | One of the local performers always tunes his Adamas down a full step in order to be able to sing the 60s and 70s songs. The strings get a bit slappy, but no one in the audience really notices.
Just buy some more guitars, Bob, and tune some down a half or full step to fit your voice. Since there is no holy grail of guitars, the only other alternative would be to contact Michael Jackson's doctor to alter your vocal chords. |

OR get a long neck. brilliant guitar concept if I do say so myself.
I bought Tippin baritone a couple of weeks ago(and you know this doesn't count as a "this year" guitar) and am tuning it to C#. That way when I play G it's really E.
Go play the long neck that's sitting at G8R's, you'll see. |

Location: Flahdaw | Thanks Waskel, I hadn't even thought of that. I guess you could wear headphones.
Mark, I already do that. I don't like the feel of mediums and the lights get jangly.
Beal, love the baritones and will probably get one one day. (got my eye on one now as a matter of fact)
Just thought, for $199, these might be cool |
