Joined: February 2002 Posts: 5750 Location: Scotland | more evidence that Ovations get no respect. In fairness if you go through the catalog, most of the estimates are reasonable. But ultimately the Clapton provenance will inflate the final values to way beyond reasonable. | ||

Possible; at least in the first part...he is selling some treasured older stuff for the center so it's hard to say what he'd keep if he thought it could raise funds. The auction features a lot of his early amp's and guitar rigs...some cool stuff...Not so many guitars as the past several Christie's auctions...Looks like they are getting into the heart of the warehouse and I am sure that he is not exactly guitar poor...it all goes to a great cause...be interesting to see what the certificates they have valued at $450 go for...the one's for "Layla" and "Tears in Heaven" should certainly bring big bucks... His guitar tech handles most of the collection and in the past a lot of the acquisition process as well. | ||
