when did the silver foil labels stop?

Joined: February 2003 Posts: 86 Location: northern virginia | Quick question for those in the know - what was the time period for the silver foil labels? As on a 1621 for example. Any thoughts or opinions would be most appreciated. | ||

But lets wait for Moody to chime in. He knows everything. . I always thought the foil labels were very classy and looked good against the stark, black backround of the bowl. | ||

I didn't specify a date, just a bunch of design features that were happening around the time the foil labels disappeared. The real date would be exactly when they ran out of them, and the blue labels would have been designed and ready to go before then, so trying to pinpoint it is pointless and probably impossible. | ||

I always thought that the k-bar,and A bracing and the 2 piece neck for the less expensive models came in about 1980. The foil label was gone at least 2 years before that. You're right in that they probably used the foil labels until they were gone and dating the change is impossible. | ||

The time sheet says #126001-157000 is Apr.-Dec. 1978 So I think they changed in May or June 1978. Bernie | ||
