thought i'd post a short clip to demo the nice brush sound that the textured top of the eliteT allows while strumming

That sounds cool Randy, almost makes me wanna trade in the 1778lx!

Nice sound overall. You play QUITE well indeed, and I'm sure that was just a tiny sample

I've been doing that with my KoaT.
I can hear the "washboard" effect fine unplugged but it does not come through the amp when plugged in.

If you're aiming for that effect (and personally I always try to add a little percuussive sound in when I'm playing certain tunes but I'm rarely plugged in), maybe consider a uni mic in front of it?

Damon, having played both, and owned the 1778LX, I would trade in. If I didn't already have a coupla A's, I would buy the EliteT. I sold the 1778 to purchase one of the A's.

Nice work as usual Randy!!! How bout posting something on the Tak 75 on youtube for us.

thanks, guys. i agree with weaser. if i was going to use this effect in a song on stage, i would set a mic as close to the strumming as possible.

That's a neat effect. You could use a cheap stick-on soundboard transducer stuck inside, right under where your fingers are brushing. A greeting card buzzer conversion would work just fine.

Hey Randy, I have something lying about my music room which just might do the trick. PM me your address and I'll shoot it out to you.

It's also something I wouldn't "over-do" . . .

As "tough" as bowl-paint may be, I'd suspect you'll detect evidence of it in your top after a while . . .

+1 on wearing the finish, but hell, it's pretty damn easy to fix.

I suppose sending an O in for a repaint would be a relatively cheap job for the service dept.

i rec'd in the mail today, all the way from scotland, the tuner pickup from templeman. rubber suction cups don't adhere to rough wood surfaces, however, i was able to wedge the pickup between a couple of the braces. it fits snugly and makes great contact with the soundboard. i will post some sound samples to youtube later. it sounds mahhhhvelous!
