Aren't they All red? I always wanted one of the OA Red MOB looking things.
But we take what we can.

I am told that this is sorta New Old Stock... Apparently it was on display long enough to get clumsy people pick-tracks but then spent a Decade or so in a store room.
I have never seen one with just a round-hole... But here is one.
It do look a bit nekkid without a rosette.

This one is totally acoustic, hence the name "Ocean Acoustic" :p

Now that I am done bragging, does anybody have any information about these things? A Google search only turned-up The Ovation Gallery and the eBay listing for this guitar. (now the listing is gone)
So if anybody has any info, or can direct me to any history, I would appreciate it.

And one more...

They have a couple of these down here in a little beachside shop, both are MOB style, finish and assembly is pretty rough on them tho... frets not filed/finsished down at the ends, and looks like the paint was literally poured onto the top of the guitar. drip marks, and icicle/paint dingleberries hanging down into the bowl through the surfboard slots.

definitely was not impressed, but they only want $100 each for them.

Yeah Fred (Ox3)... This one, the edge of the plywood is alittle rough around the center-hole.
I can also feel a "line" where the black binding joins the neck.
But it does not affect playing the guitar.
But the frets are just fine and the action is good.
The neck-joint on this one is just a big chunk of wood... Glue-on, not Bolt-on.
But the action is acceptable. I removed a thick shim and installed a thin shim.

I ain't gonna chop this one up, I will only use an AXL suction-cup sound-board transducer.
I tested that last night. It sounded good through my Teeny Little MicroCube.
I used the "mic" setting and that will be good for sound reinforcement on the street corner.

I would buy one of the MOB OA's if I were you. :p For $100?
The fret-ends would probably be cured by humidifying the guitar...
You can reach inside through the manhole to fix the paint drops...
But for a Hunnert Bucks.... Who cares?
