Stopped by Dream Guitars in Ashville NC on the way back from Nashville this afternoon to pick up the new addition gifted to me from V...A Veillette Gryphon high strung 12 A/E...
If you have never played or heard one of these you are missing a great experience...the strings are paired and tuned from D to D...although other tunings are easily applied. The sound is a combination of Mandolin and Octave 12 string and will raise the arm hairs...literally! This one and Dave Matthews Gryphon 12 were made the same week in 2006 and share consecutive serial numbers...This one is finished in a satin finish and allows the wood to sing like an angel. Sitka Spruce and Honduran Mahogany really shimmer. Can't wait to play it through the RC60 I'm getting from Damon. SWMBO said I needed a get well gift. I don't usually name instruments but this one's now called "V"...both of these ladies are amazing...

Wow, Mike. Just wow. That is just one GORGEOUS guitar. Great news about the success of your surgery, too. Congratulations!

I played several of those at NAMM. The D2D and the A2A were both outstanding!

Expensive but I would love to own 1 or 2!

Wow! Congrats! Can you point us to any YouTube offerings that show off one of these babies?

Glad to hear you're getting all better, Mike!

Nice.
You'll have to bring that one when you come back to G-town.

Mike, Ashville, N.C. is not on your way home from Nashville to Bristol.

Guess I should take the long route sometime.
