Nick,
I can't imagine your pain. Thanks for sharing. My 2 youngest are 100 miles away at college, but coming home for the weekend. I'll definitely heed your advice with hugs all around.
Prayers for you and your family

Nick, sincere condolences to you and your family

I understand and live the pain first hand.

I lost my eldest son in similar circumstances last July

It is the unanswered questions in these tragic circumstances that are so hard to deal with.

The best from all of us "Downunder"

Nick, our deepest condolenses to you and you family on the passing of your son. We will keep you and yours in our thoughts.

I hope I'm not over stepping my bounds here...
As for not wanting to do the things you enjoy, thats understandable. But his passing shouldn't keep you from enjoying life. Would your son not want you to enjoy the things you love? I don't think so. Pick up your guitar and play. Play in his memory, play so you can heal, play for the shear joy of it. But just play.

Mr. O said it best: playing guitar = therapy
Excellent advice.

I don't get around here much anymore...just popped in to see what's up and saw this thread.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Nick. As a parent, I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing a child. Just horrible.

All my best to you and yours.

I don't have any words of wisdom, Nick. Just do what you need to do to get through each day. There's no right or wrong and there's no time line.

In times like this, there are no magic words that can make things right. Just know that our prayers are with you, and you are not alone in this. May God bring back many fond memories to you and your family, and may you find yourself discussing those good times together.
Bryan.
