I use 3in leather straps from Franklin mostly.

If it feels right, do it.

That's actually optional for a slight additional charge.

Most of mine are 3" but if I found a wider one that I really liked and was comfortable I would not hesitate to get it.

I don't really believe that some are made for "bass" and some for "guitar". They all do the same thing.

I have Franklin straps in stock. Probably the only examples available in the UK.

The bass straps may be a bit longer.

Maybe Brad but I played bass for 20+ years and never had a "bass" strap in all that time.

Maybe I did not wear it low enough...down around my ankles.... to warrant the extra length.

Because of damage to my chest I use a 4" strap on Electrics and 3" on Acoustic guitars. Mostly real soft leather.
