I've recently ordered Ovation Celebrity Double Neck guitar. It's on the way to my home right now, and it's an old version with solid (?) spruce top instead of laminated maple one, produced now.
I know, I've made hasty decision, but I always wanted to have a double neck guitar, but I play mostly acoustics nowadays, so I thought this Ovation would be the best choise.
I heard from some folks, that these guitars are not as good as their single neck siblings. So, I have a few questions:
1) What's wrong with these guitars in general?
2) Does it hold the tension of 18 strings in general normally, or there may occur some problems with the top?
3) Does it have solid spruce top or laminated? Different sources have different information.
4) What can you say about this instrument in general? Any pros and cons?
Thanks! |

Location: NJ | wrong with them?
when they work they are fine
normally but I would detune them after use to insure the bridge and top does not pull up
my best estimate is laminated solid top on that big of an instrument would be expensive
it's a guitar |

I always detune my 12-string guitars, and I think, it is absolutely necessary for a double neck one. |
