How hard would it be to try and refinish my 1989 lengend 1756 myself. Are there any good how to's. I am handy and I have refinished an electric before with good results.

Am I crazy to try. Other than the top the guitar is in great shape. Mother will charge me at least $500.

Thanks?
Steve

It's not for the faint-of-heart, but doable. Judging from the look of that bubbling, you are going to have to take all the finish off that critter, which, on an Ovation, is no mean feat.
If you go after it, invest in a new rosette, because the current one is cracked, and it will be in-the-way, to remove the topcoating. It's up to you, if you want to pull the bridge. May not be worth it, in the long run.
Best of luck, & go slow.

On second thought, buy an "axe jacket", and be done with it.

This is an Axe-Jacket on the Flame-n-Skulls Pacemaker...

Anything is possible. ;)
