It has a sympathetic buzz from the bowl when playing around the E and A at the 5th-7th frets. Its been looked at and supposedly there isn't a loose or broken brace. Any ideas?

Put the guitar on a sturdy stand. Pluck a string to get the buzz then touch the top to try and find it. Start by using your whole hand just seeing if it stops when you touch part of the top, bowl, neck, bridge, strap buttons etc. etc.. You may even find out that it doesn't do it unless you are holding it, or or or and or... But the Capo-with-guitar-on-stand lets you concentrate on finding the culprit. Don't forget taking out the battery, or even the whole pre-amp if it's a pop out kind. You'll find it.

It was caused by the wires leading from the pre-amp to the output jack vibrating against the body. Snugged them down and, like Steely Dan, I was "through with Buzz".

Pull out the whole can so you can get your hand inside (or someone with a small enough hand) and you'll be able to see if you can stop the problem by pushing/holding various parts. In my case, a little dab of glue solved the problem.

Most of the vibrations I have actually heard, well it's not so much that we heard them with our ears. We eventually did, but it was under scrutiny of the Microphone while recording that they were even discovered.

Its a dull short buzz and it lesses when I put my hand on the top, above the bridge (guitar in playing position - near the waist) or when I press on the back. Its not the tuners, strap buttons, jack (even though its places in a really bad spot), or preamp box (its an old FET Vol/Tone system). There are loose wires inside. The battery holder is screwed in solid, but should be isolated. Next string change I'm going to secure and isolate everything inside. I see some cussing in my future.
