Location: nashville | Glen has one more show at the Ryman DEc. 5th. I was at last nights show and can honestly say it was the most moving musical experience I have ever witnessed and I was at the Municipal Auditorium when Lynard Skynard took the stage for the first time after the crash. (Volunteer Jam 5). Maybe it's knowing That Glen only had a hand full of dates left and the end of an iconic career was at it's end. Maybe it was the fact I have never seen a performer so greatful to be singing his songs in of all places the Mother Chruch of Country Music, along side his children. Maybe because the first 2 guitar I ever bought were Ovations. Maybe it was the songs Maybe it was becsaue my Mom and Dad were their with me and it was most likely the last concert they would ever see.
All I know is that I will most likley not be at Monday's show and I will be sadden by it, but I was their last night. I have my ticket stubb and a GC customized guitar pick that his daughter gave me that she used on stage at the Ryman at the end of the show.
They were filming the show and I was interview for the documentay.
As fate would have it, I was waiting to see if GC would come out and sign a few autograph. He did not no suprize their. But I overheard two men talking to Glen's Piano player for 35 years and I told them What a great show and that my Dad who is in a walker and can barely get around was standing for the ovation at the end of Wichita Lineman. One of the guys pulls out his Sony Cam and ask me to retell the story.
If you can get to Nashville Monday to see the second show you will not regreat it. Their were tickets on the street last night. I alwasys ask becasue I was thinking about friends who might like to go Monday. I was quoted $30.00ea. Craigslist had tickets around facd value as well.
I can tell you I would pay facevalue just to hear Wichita Lineman one more time. |
