Hey Everyone here is my brand new song, fresh from the mix.
Sister Sadie Blues w/Harry Edgar and Phil Johnson.
I wanted to write a blues song that would take the listener to a juke joint in Mississippi drinking a beer from a bucket of Ice. I hope you all enjoy the song. Of course any feedback it more than welcome

Maybe it's just me, but I would not be happy with that mix. I don't know how to explain it, it just doesn't sound right.
Any professional recording experts out there??? Is this an example of too much compression?

i have to say that if i were sitting in a bar drinking beer I would of thought that it was a standard jukebox song playing in the back ground.
i don't want to sound like a critic or a dick but it seems to sound like a song that when a bunch of new players get together and don't know what to jam to they go to the standard 3 chord blues theme that everybody knows and everybody gets a shot a lead rif. sorry just my opinion and you asked for it. please no vacation al or miles , im just giving my worthless opinion.the song seems bland to me. Hey Everyone thank you so much for your comments. GWB you are exactly right about the song. I wrote this so it would have a bar like feel to it. It's in the key of A but I used a A, B, C, B, A D9 then A,B,C,B,A, E9 D9
riff in the verse and then A, B, C, B, F9, E9 going into the chorus.
When I was stationed in Alabama, when we had pass for the weekends a bunch of us would go to the blues bars, just to listen to some great music. And your right about anyone coming to play along, just jump in and play a lead lick. I know it's in the 1,4,5 concept of blues, I really wanted to write a good old blues song that could takes the listener to a bar, or a juke joint and thank you for the comment on, sounded like a standard juke box song. I'll take that, Wow I didn't even think of that. Thank you so much for your comments GWB, it really means a lot. You really got the feeling I was trying to reach. I just want to touch one person with one song and my job is done, then I try and do it again. DB I think your right it may be compressed a little too much. SOBeach and Martinez thank you guys I'm glad you enjoyed the song brothers. I could of spiced it up a little with a slide guitar and harmonica but I thought that would clutter up the lyrics too much. Like all my music, I know it's not going to be in the top 1000 on the FM radio, my music at times is eclectic, mostly because I love all types of music. And if it wasn't for the feedback I get from family and friends like you all, I couldn't get any better. So if your up to, grab a beer, kick back and turn it up. Thank you all. :) :) :) :)
