Brown delivered my latest treasure today: I have been looking for this guitar ever since I sold my last one 8 years ago: and that one wasn't as nice as this. This guitar is near perfect! I can only find two small nearly invisible pinhead marks on the face, near the edge of the bottom face. No Cracks!!! No Peghead edge bumps: Just a pristine 1979 Ovation Pacemaker 1615-4. I've seen worse guitars offered as new in shops. Some one really took care of this one. It's a welcome addition to the collection. Here is the link for Pictures:

\'79 1615-4 MINT!

Many of you know of my history with this model of guitar...I played it 6-7 nights per week for well over 10 years and often did multiple gigs in a single day. Never once did it let me down. This guitar has a huge sound that is as bright as a bell and as boisterous as cannon...the spruce is gorgeous w/straight grain and nice silking. Pictures tell the story! I'm a happy guy over this and I got it for a lot less than many which are currently or recently on the bay...It's a treasure to me!

Congratulations on finding the guitar of your dreams. Eight years is a long time to be on the lookout for a specific model.

For a man that knows his 12'ers, this is high praise!

Congrats, friend. I know that it will be well played and enjoyed!

Well, this guitar was one of several "Dreams"...my search to replace my 1758-6P took nearly 15 for a clean exmple (now Minty thanks to the folks at the Mothership)...for the 1615 I passed on many that were not up to the condition I wanted...it's a no frills workhorse of a guitar...I highly recomend them!
That said, any Ovation or Adamas 12 is a top-of-the-food-chain 12 string guitar...best in the world!

Mike,

Nice guitar. I have a 1115-4 that I bought new in 1972. My first Ovation.

Cannon is a great description.

Mike, that is a fine example of the breed. Congrats on the grab. For me to hold on to a 12 string is like "trying to grasp oil with the hand" as is evidenced with my 12 string history. To me, they are, as WC Fields said about elephants, "nice to look at, but I wouldn't want to own one". Of course, if I could play worth a dang, it might make a difference.....
