Location: North Carolina | We started the weekly outdoor gig we'd landed at a local restaurant. At first the owner was a little pissy because he'd wanted us to stop by so he could tell us what he wanted in terms of plugging into his house system and supplying break music. I did - three times at the hour he said to be there - he wasn't there. But none of the in-plugging was rocket science.
However, once we got going it was one of the easiest gigs I'd ever played. We're essentially playing for people who are waiting for tables, so theoretically we could do the same set over and over. The crowd was appreciative of what we do and the recent add I posted about - Along Comes Mary - got a HUGE response. Load-in and load-out was a breeze and the covered outdoor deck on the bay is just a pleasant place to be. Not to mention the place is less than a mile from my house. Not the most difficult gig I've done.
If we get some pics and I can figure out how to do it, I'll post them. |
