Location: Fort Lee, NJ | Hi. I just stumbled upon this site. Great stuff. I have been looking for a 12-string Adamas (1688) for a long time. I have no interest at all in later production Adamas, including Adamas II, just want an original. I have a red sunburst 1687 and just love its sound. Either straight up purchase or a trade for my Glenn Campbell 12-string (1618) circa 1981.

Location: Fort Lee, NJ | Well, playadamas was such a nice person as I was told, but he did not have what I have been after. Anybody else knows where I can get one of those?

Location: So. Cal. | He's looking for an early 2-knob, high gloss (pressed foam) headstock and neck:
From hhara:
"Head, neck, and the bridge: satin as opposed to the original gloss finish...
Rope binding: pressed as opposed to the original carved one
Roundback material: thinner than the original..."
I only have one from the '90's. Anybody else has one please contact hm. |

The GC 12-str can be had from about $350-700; I was able to get a near-new for $520 plus shipping. Might be better to sell the GC rather than expect a trade.
From Michael's post...sounds like a custom order.
An original Adamas I 12-str, either early year or a custom remake that I have (last year, OP-50) is going to cost at least $2,500. When (hopefully) the Adamas I 12-strings come out next year, wouldn't be surprised at $3,500. Personally, I wouldn't consider less than $3,000 for my 2003 Adamas I 12-str. Best that I have seen for an original (with some damage) is $2,500 on eBay. |

Location: Fort Lee, NJ | Of course I did not mean an 'equal' trade. I got a used Glen Campbell only because I could not find a 12-string Adamas I around. I would have to give up the Glen if I get another 12-string, because that is my self-imposed rule (no two same kind). I got my other 1687 for over $2K, so I am aware of its price range.
For some reason, I have my eyes only on early two-knobs models. Is Ovation planning to come up with a 12-string version of their reissued Adamas?
