I would like to try another flavor please. This is specifically an instrument to take to the office and keep in my 8' by 8' Cubicle. Think Dilbert with an "O", a bad haircut and drop the tie!

Would like to get a Super-Shallow or close to it Multi-hole 6 string. Ovation, Celebrity or Applause - I'm open to options.

If it is a little beat up and has some character this is a good opportunity to give it a new home. I will entertain your offers for trade or sale.

Thanks!

Woody,
It won't be very loud, but consider an EA 68 or CV 68 Viper. They are small, easy to use in a limited space. I have a CV68, you can pick one up fairly inexpensively, plugged in they are great and will be a different animal for your herd. They are solid and the sustain, plugged in, is amazing!

Don't settle for anything less than an Elite. If I could part with mine, you'd be the first person I'd send it to. Alas, it's too damned sweet. Which reminds me...I have some strings to change. ;)

EDIT: I like Noel's suggestion, too...something different! Different == good, right? :)

I just traded a CS247 and some cash for a 99 Collector's. They are both mid bowls, but I kind of liked the 247 unplugged sound better. The shallow bowl multiholes don't have any volume. The CC057 might have a little more volume unplugged.

Applause AA12, 1/2 size....small, compact, sounds pretty decent and only around $165 new.

Elite Std. Talk about character - check my gallery. :)

I continue to be blown away with how good they sound unplugged. I'll be parting with one of them in the next week (sigh) or so. The reddish one arrives tomorrow. It will have to go a long ways to outplay ol mean green. Either one is a $250 shipped possibility.

Stephen,
I have a AA12. The sound is good but I'm looking for a full size - just thinner.

Puddin' - something to think about!

Ok, after a full day of playing both 6868's, I like them both. The cherryburst looks great (except the scratch), I like the big knob on the FE3 preamp, and it has more of a v shaped neck. The green one has an awesome neck, more bass played acoustically, and frets easier.

I'd highly recommend someone elses's 6868. :)

FWIW, here's my two cents...

I'm new to the whole shallow bowl experience... litterally one week into it. When I got my SS Elite last week (which I bought specifically to be played plugged in at church), I fully expected it to sound like a toy acoustically compared to all my my deep bowl O's. But the single thing that continues to impress me every time I pick it up is just how much volume and acoustic voice it has unplugged. I'm not saying I'm ready to get rid of all my deep bowl Ovations, but the SS Elite can definitely hold it's own as an acoustic instrument... At least mine does.

Jeff
