Anyway, if anybody wants to fill me in on any thoughts/facts/concerns about my guitar, I'd be more than interested. I've loved playing it for over twenty years now but I know you all probably know much more about it than I. Again, I'm toying with the idea of selling it to pick up a steel string model...but would never give it away for sentimental reasons. :p

Not because of the the XGF, so much, just that her Mom was extemely cool!! No Surprise, I bought my 1763 because it was as close to that as I could get (AE, classical neck etc), but mine is a cutawy, which I like even better!! Before you hock it for steel, you should try some John Pearse Thomastic strings on it. I'm playing them now and I swear they make mine sound like an old Balladeer or something. Rich deep bass, fat middle, nice highs, not too twangy, bendable as all get out, and designed for classical/folk fingerpicking. I will go back to my standard Savarez 520P1's though. I like the thick all wrapped sound and texture from them. Fred 1763

Better to keep it and save for a steel strung. If you know what model and price range you are looking for go and ask the Board what they have to offer! There is a tendancy to take good care of each other and find good homes for our children!

I guess I wouldn't think it'd be worth much more than that but as it's not produced anymore, I thought there was an outside chance I was sitting on an undiscovered mint. Hey - gotta ask... As for what I'm looking for (and don't drum me out of the Club when you hear this, ok?), I was looking at a Takamine EAN10C or maybe the Special Edition. Played a couple of those and just fell for the sound and the playability. That said, after going through this site and listening to you guys, I just may end up with another O. Why fight the insanity, right? Talk to you soon!

Would somone please make him a deal or loan him a decent steel string please???

Always like to try new things! [Side note to Norseman1 - I've responded to your earlier email a couple of times but it keeps getting kicked back. Send me another address if you'd like a response!]

Unfortunately, having spent so much time playing a super shallow O, a box guitar just doesn't feel 'right.' Other than the non-ergonomic design of the box Tak's, they're pretty nice...and they're at least still in the Kaman family!
