Location: Gig Harbor, Washington | Well...I've played Matt's MM68 at a clinic, and I don't find alot of difference (though the Applesauce mando is in a different strata!)...
There are those who'll swear by the USA version and then those of us that don't see it as being worth twice the price.
Either way, a bit a a challenge for an old, calloused, big-fingered picker like me. Best wishes in you research and developement!!!
Many Mahalos to Y'allos~ |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I went thru the whole progression - Started with applause MAE68 mando. Perfectly good mando sounded no worse than the celeb or usa models to my ears. I sold it and got a celeb MSC68 because it was prettier. Ran into technical problems, top started to collapse and neck had a hump in it. Dealing with import division service dept was a joke. Payed big money to a local luthier for repairs and was not satisfied. Ditched it and got a USA model just to be rid of my headaches. To me it sounds the same as the applause which was 25% of the price. But I draw great satisfaction from knowing that 1) I own the best Ovation makes, 2) the US service department is there if and when I need them. |

Location: closely held secret | I take it the MCS148 is not USA? It seems to be the least expensive of the current models. |

Location: Upper Left USA | Kurt has nice stuff and is an excellant caretaker of his instruments.
I just wish I had a "Mando" fund instead of a "next 12" or "Office guitar" fund.

StandingO's got a good point - sound vs. price...I think this one's a great value in terms of OP24+ quality sound without the mm68 pricetag. I'm confident someone will be campin' happy wit dis little one! Crank it up! |
