Location: Cincinnati | I'm not as familiar with these guitars as I am with other makers but I recently acquired an 1132-4 which I intend to sell. I certainly invite all inquiries and/or submissions of information related to this particular model. I try to inform myself on all pieces that come my way.
I've contacted several websites related to Ovation guitars (fansites, etc.) and plan to sell this guitar fairly soon. I'd rather sell the guitar to someone by way of a site like this than resort to Ebay. Generally, I feel better knowing that vintage equipment is going to caring individuals.
I can be reached at quiddity9@hotmail.com or at montward1@hotmail.com . Thank You. |

Nobody ever replied to your post, unless they emailed you direct, so I thought I would. I have a 1976 1132-4 that I bought new. It is in almost perfect condition and still sounds great. These do not seem to be too popular. There are quite a few Matrixes on ebay that seem to go for a little over $100. The aluminum neck may turn people off. I doubt you could replace a worn fretboard anymore and to replace the frets you need to do the board. Hope that helps if you haven't already sold it.

Location: Cincinnati | Thanks for the info. Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about these. Hmmm, what an odd design this appears to be. Seems a shame that the frets can only be reworked by way of replacing the whole board. Yeesh.
All the same, I've seen a few of the Matrix guitars sell for around $500 on Ebay. I also came across one of these selling for around $950. Is the range really that wide or were these just flukes?
Thanks for your input. |
