Which model should I pursue, since I hope to be spending $500 or so for my first? I've got an old Yamaha acoustic that I love - I've had it for 25 years, but the frets are in bad shape. I played a used Balladeer at GC that I liked, and I noticed that the folks here sell to their own at good prices. So... what to buy?

There is a 1768 Elite on ebay right now with starting bid at $300.You might want to keep an eye on it, It's a real nice Ovation. My advice is just keep your eyes open for good dealsa and If at all possible stick with the USA Ovations.

I just recently got my Std Elite LX used on ebay for $650. My daughter (the artist formerly known as Lori Anne) got her Elite T for $550. Except for no warranty these are just like new guitars.

These are the Sleeper bargains of the USA Ovations. Next I would grab an Elite LX. Oh yeah, I already did! :D

I'm thinking mid-bowl, tear drop burst. Is there any reason I should reconsider the bowl depth? I want it to sound natural unplugged, but would mostly play it amped.

I'm thinking of registering CaptainLovehandles.com and making that the address to my site instead of JasIngram.com Now that I've been putting stuff out there under my name for so many years, I kinda wish I had more anonymity. Plus, I have a cool Capt. Lovehandles logo, so I could sell shirts. I bet a bunch of us boomers would want a Capt Lovehandles shirt, then I could branch out... Senior Beerbelly... other ideas?
