It's so cool what you can do these days with just plugging a guitar into a computer.

The longest part was programming drums and bass. The rest was pretty much a one take per track thing.

This sounds better through good speakers.

Very nice! Sounds really good through the studio monitors.

What did you use for the bass and drums?

I think you need some vintage pedals to go with the great sounding vintage guitar!!!!

I used garage band instruments. Basically midi. I just input what notes I wanted it to play.

Zach's working on the bass part with the Magnum though. He really dug the bass line I wrote.

Crimson, I still needed an audio interface. I have an Edirol USB interface.

As for effects and stuff, I just played clean into GarageBand, then used it's amps and effects.

Had this been a "real" recording, I probably would have mic-ed the Carvin.

Stephen, I'm trying to stay out of the "For Sale" section. You're evil man!

I only listed 3-4 of the 20 or so effects I plan to sell off over the next month or so. I think most will sell on ebay for more than I am offering here but I like to pass stuff on to the family when possible. Got lots of really nice ones but since my pedal board has pretty much been cast in stone for the last couple years, there are just too many of them sitting in the closet gathering dust.

how 'bout and old tube screamer? and my wah broke, so I need another. It was also a volume, but I think this time around I want separate pedals, so...

volume, wah, tube screamer

That Nobels thing looks interesting though, in place of a tube screamer maybe?

How about a cry-baby model 95-910511 with the old stack of dimes inductor?

How about a Maxon ROD881 back from when they were only made in Japan (all literature is in Japanese).

or a Limited Edition Custom Shop Fulltone Full-Drive 2 (switchable "FM" in Vintage Cream with the totally evil serial number 666???

an original ProCo RAT with the glowing "A".

and yeah....the Nobels is pretty wicked.

All the above (cept the crybaby) in excellent to near mint. Crybaby is slightly beat but it's the sound that counts. Hard to find SOD inductors.

Pure concentrated evil.

PM sent.

You know what I'd REALLY like to find is an old portable battery powered amp called the Mouse.

I used to have one, and I don't know what happened to it, but it's been gone for nearly 20 years now I imagine.

Then also available is the '66 Fender Princeton, the 60's Kalamazoo 2 that will compete and in some cases eat the late 50's early 60's Fender Champs (same circuit), a THD Univalve, and a few more tucked away in various dark corners.

man.....I hate to sell off some of this stuff but it just isn't being utilized properly.

Damon-

I've got a Maxi-Mouse buried somewhere in the garage with the 200 other projects. Needs batteries. Been meaning to get around to it along with everything else. If I get ambitious I'll fix it and bring it in July. Don't know if I want to keep it or not.

Stephen,

Maybe I should just come by the house with a shopping cart.

Tim,

Thanks. Like I said in the "rate yourself" thread, I think I'm mediocre in this sort od thing, but good enough to make it sound ok. The things I want to play these days I'm very much a beginner at. I look at some of these guys like Randy and his fingerpicking, and it just floors me.

Steve,

I think I heard somewhere that the manufacturer still sells those batteries, though there spendy. I love those things. Funny thing is the manufacturer wasn't even an amp builder.

Captain,

You're not alone. ;)

vids huh?

I did do some instructional vids for a friend who's kind of a beginner. He wanted to learn Crush from Dave Matthews.

It's very raw, just playing into the iSight on the Mac and using the internal mic.

I didn't want to post on youtube. It's my own site. If anyone wants to learn how to play it feel free.

How to play Crush

Keep in mind this was made for someone who's still in beginner/intermediate mode. And it was made for a friend. It's full of errors and wasn't really made for public consumption.

And no cracks on the singing dammit! That's one of the things I'm working on currently.
