Tim in Tidewater is stopping by tomorrow afternoon for a few hours: we'll be doing the "12 string thing" and we are both looking forward to getting together! More on that later...
My big news is that I went back to my family Doctor last Wednesday and along with sending me to see other specialists in the Roanoke area later in the summer, he put me on an anti-inflamitory, once a day pill called Mobic (I had never heard of it before). It took two days to get used to it (some internal upset)but now no problems at all. The best part is it works! I have been nearly pain free for two days now and that is the longest since January...I can hardly believe it...it feels so good to not have the intense pain from my neck and to be able to do the things I normally do...instead of being medicated to near stupor...some may like that; not me! I sat and played my new 1688-7 for two hours last night late and it felt so good to be able to do that again...Thank for all the good wishes, etc. that have been sent my way...I really appreciate it: I now can appreciate what others with cronic pain go through...If you do not, be thankful!

MM ,

Ol' DOW Chemical slogan: better life through chemistry.

At 34 I developed a massive ulcer. Didn't know what the problem was so I ate aspirin like candy which helped temporarily but just made matters worse. It was near constant pain which even affected my personality (not for the better). Once I was diagnosed and the proper meds were prescribed, magic! Within twelve hours I had peace and comfort that's indescribable.

I can celebrate with ya on the pain relief and ongoing return to normalcy. Continued good luck!

happy to hear the good news, mike. hopefully medical science will also get to the cause of the inflammation and treat it accordingly without you having to rely on the NSAID long term. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can play hell on your gastric and cardiac systems. feeling pain free is like a new lease on life though.

and btw, no lexicon yet...it's on the slow boat for sure.

In my youth I could do anything and heal in 2 days. I avoided people talking about their ailments and medications...

Now I listen a lot more closely and actually take notes. Wha' happened?

Great news Mike! I'll have to look that Mobic up. I am nursing some swollen tendons in my arm and lower back and I react to Aspirin and Ibuprofen too easily.

Wha-a-a-a-a-a-a-h

I can bring pictures of my colonoscopy to the NW Gathering if you want Woody. Yes, they actually give you pictures with the test results.

Just post them on "You Tube" or "My Space".

When you've seen one Diverticuli you've seen them all. Just grin and bear it.
