Looking to buy a Hamer SATQ. Music123 has them for $419. Anybody have a used one in good condition? Any comments on the guitar?

Tom, I'm not familiar with that particular one, but all the Hamer's I've seen and owned are great guitars.
You might check at Earhart's Electronics over on Belknap, it's where I got my new Monaco Elite. I'm not sure they have a SATQ in there, but they have a handfull to try out (they're not a real big operation). Doubt they can match Music123's price, but might make a deal for you. Allen is the main sales owner, dropping Kid On A Pony's name won't account for much but he'll know I sent somebody his way...
:)

He showed me a Monaco III he just got in when I picked up my Monaco, try it out just for the heck of it!!!

Scout ebay. You can find them new with warranty for at least $150 cheaper.

Thanks. I was at Earhart's today. He had one, but quoted me $699. I even dropped Mike Stevens' name (Mike told me to go there). Just didn't get a warm cozy feeling.

The SATQ is a great guitar for the money. It's made in China and the hardware is a little cheap, but you just can't beat the price. The only thing to beware of is the setup is likely to be a bit spotty. I paid another $70. for a good local setup and to resolder all connections. Dave

I want the honeyburst. I looked at the Les Paul Standard Classic today. Looks similar, but I like the Hamer better.

Al, if you have one or can get one, email me the price.

Tom, I was at Ridglea Music today, Saturday, (the older girls are taking bass and violin lessons) and they have one there. It is a honey-burst. The action was great on it. The price is a little more..
They have a SATA with P90s also.
At least you could try one out...

Al would be a good move but there are lots of the Koreans models out there to be had. You might also consider adding a coupla/three hundred bucks to the kitty and getting a USA Hamer. I bought a used Mirage about 5 years ago for under $600. Check out something like this:

Hamer 1

The USA made Hamers are just incredible. If you are patient and keep on it, you can find a great guitar for a bargain price.

Well, kinda disappointed. Went down to Ridgela to see it. Although I am not an electric player, it didn't feel right. Tried the SATA with P90s - didn't feel right either.

Paul, the guy remembered you and asked me if I had a friend come in and look at that guitar last week.

I did, however, like the Godin LG SP90 they had. Anyone have any comments on Godin electrics?

When I was taking lessons, my instructor had a couple of Godin's. One was a Multiac thingy that was pretty cool. The other was a TC somethign (strat style). Good construction, materials, fit and finish. Sounded fine. The local mom and pop had a used one on consignment (TC Artisan I think the model was) that I considered, but never picked up. It was a fine guitar, IMHO.

You could always check out the Harmony Central opinions and see what owners have to say.

There's a Godin A6 at the local GC. I think they want $299.

Found an Artist Korina at Competition Music in Ft. Worth that I am considering. Used $650. Anything special to look out for in this one?

A Korina Artist would make a very nice addition to your collection. Does it have the humbuckers or the P-90s? Let me know if you decide not to move on it.

I don't remember if it had HB or P90s. I am going to run down there (hopefully tomorrow) and take another look. I'll let everyone know.

NOBODY ELSE BUY THIS UNTIL I GET THERE! (please) :(

Sorry, Bob, bought the Artist today. Will post pictures tonight. The guy had is down in his books as a Duotone, but it appears to be an Artist. The TRC is black, but blank. Doesn't say "Artist".

It does have dual P-90s.
