Location: Boise, Idaho | Mine is a 76 6 string. I think the ebay one is later. You could probably check the price list and see what years that model was made. Probably around 1980. It looks like it's got the urethane neck and aluminum fretboard, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. If it is an aluminum fretboard, you can't replace them anymore, so once the frets are worn, the guitar is shot.
No such thing as a Matrix Custom Legend and I think all the tops were spruce laminates, not solid. The binding looks interesting. Mine is much more typical Ovation.
Buckaroo and Tragocaster have Matrix 6 strings, too. |

Location: North Texas | I think it's a nice guitar. I believe the fretboard is rosewood with conventional frets. This would make a nice 12 string for someone. The tone of these guitars is very good. |

The Matrix 12 strings were available both in acoustic and A.E in the late 70's.
Please, look at this catalog for specifications: MATRIX CATALOG

| I have a Matrix. Model 1132-1 serial 090244. It`s a 6 string with an alum. fret board. I`ve had it new since 1975. Other than many cracks in the lam. It`s one of my favorite guitars. It`s got a beautiful deep tone and is not at all worn since you barely have to touch the strings. It sold when new for around $250.00. I`m told by local guitar makers it`s a throw away, but fat chance, I`ll never get rid of it. Zimmr1 |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I guess the only real turn off for me is the way the headstock looks. It look like it's made of plastic. I may be a traditionalist, but at least SOMETHING needs to be made out of wood on a guitar. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Ooops! ... I spoke too soon. I went to the web page you listed and saw the real deal on the history page. It looks a lot better on the web page than in the Ebay pictures. Still a little plain for my tastes, but who am I? I just like to see a bunch of abalone on everything. |

The seller did get some good bids. It brought more than I would have guessed. |
