Location: Phoenix AZ | Just a heads up regarding the Josh White and Balladeer shiny bowl re-issues.
These are wonderful instruments indeed, but ask yourself this question: Would you rather own a re-issue or would you rather own the ORIGINAL guitars? And what if the originals were in excellent condition and half the price of the re-issues?
That's right, two of my most prized guitars will soon be available. The '68 Josh White shiny bowl is currently at the factory getting a little buff and polish job. The '67 ribbon rosette shiny bowl Balladeer is at home next to it's siblings. As difficult as it will be, I'm going to part with both of them due to redundency in the collection.
I don't have all the details worked out or even a firm price in mind yet, but I wanted to post this information here in case there are any interested collectors. We can start the discussion, exchange photos, etc. These are truely historic guitars that you don't just throw on ebay and hope for the best. Prices will be resonable (half or less than the reissues) and of course both come with the vintage Ovation cases and the guitars have been exquisitely cared for in my home.
There are photos of the Shiny Bowl Balladeer and Josh White on my website.
Thanks, Dave |

Location: Boise, Idaho | The Balladeer is very nice. I played it last month. It has that classic Ovation tone. Buy it, so I don't. The tax man cometh. |
