Location: Ballston Lake, N.Y. | I dropped by a small local music store in Saratoga NY today. There was a used Ovation. Black finish, Slotted headstock (black), Gold hardware, neck to the body at the 12th fret and electronics. Looked like a Folklore. The label was modern white oval and next to model was 1717-X. A rarebird? The sales guy said the previous owner told him it was custom made. He said you could use steel or nylon strings on it. I don't think he was very knowledgable about Ovations. It had steel strings on it but there were a couple finish cracks behind the bridge and it looks like the bridge might have lifted slightly then been glued back down. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Sometimes the label guy in the factory is a little bit off the mark. I just bought a brand new Custom Legend and the label said Folklore. Go figure. Dave |

Location: Ballston Lake, N.Y. | Northcountry, I live in Clifton Park, about 10 miles south of Saratoga. Right now I play Contempory Christian with the worship team at church. I'm always looking for a good deal on used Ovations. This one caught my eye but I don;t know what to make of it. |
