The '97 sounds like a parlor....petite, tight, even throughout. Kinda hard to describe without actually hearing them side by side. | ||

The 87 is my main guitar now. I rarely play the 97; I play the 87 about every day. If your looking for something that will compare with your 87 you will be disappointed. It would have been better to have bought the 97 first. Steve | ||

Used prices on them are pretty good. I may be selling mine in a few weeks if you are interested. Another OUTSTANDING guitar is the 30th anniversary custom legend that came out in '04. | ||
