It was hanging in the Ovation display room. Was instructed to pick it up and play all I wanted. My first impression was of the light weight, you could play this all day. Neck is one piece with skunk strip down the back. TRC is held on by brass screw from the back. Bowl is flecked with red and gold. Very thin pickguard, didn't notice it at first. I was all set to not be overly impressed, I was WRONG! In the hands of a real player, not me, it would be awesome! Not as bassy as my old 1617 or Elite T. Very balanced sound, and loud if you want it to be. This one is Ser.# 3 Asking price on the tag, $3600 Above it was hanging one of the black models (2080) with the sound hole on the upper bout. Very good looking guitar! One piece walnut neck. Very light weight and again very balanced sound. It would be hard for me to choose between this and the #47 reissue. Next picked up the GC reissue 12 string, stacked knob. Easy to play and of course sounded very good. Next to it was the 6 string GC (Mod. 1623?) (I forgot to take some paper in with me.) One again, good sound, easy to play. Number 5 - Saw the 12 string LX hanging in the corner. Not sure if the color is New England Burst, but looked similar, maybe not quite as orange. I don't know if I would like this color on a 6 string, but it was right for a 12. Man, does that thing play and sound good! Also visited Lone Wolf Guitars on the south side. He has an old GC 12 string and an applause mandolin, if anyone is interested. Plus two Hamer USA, A Studio and the one with a hum and single at the bridge. Well you can tell how I spent my afternoon. Having lots of fun! (Originally posted this under the Momma Mia thread, but decided to start a new thread.)

Overall sounds like a really special guitar at a very good price. One question, How did you manage to walk out of the store without buying anything ??? Oh, you left your wallet at home. Good planning ... Dave
