I'm looking to buy a Collector's in great condition...either a 1995, or a '98-'03 model.

I would also be interested in special USA elites, like the Angel Step Walnut, koa, or other special top types.

Let me know what you've got if you want to move it!

Nosa, If I may ask, what's your particular interest in '95, '98-'03. That's a pretty diverse range of guitars. What exactlyt are you looking for. Dave

Well, I've always been partial to Elite-type Ovations, and all of these are that type, except for the '95. I like the '95 because it has a lot of desirable features, and I played one once and loved it. I'm mainly looking for a really nice Ovation that's kind of unique (not your standard off-the-shelf model).

I was under the impression that the 94 and 95 collectors were very similar, with the only major difference being the electronics. Please correct me if I am wrong, as I have not had the opportunity to play a '95.

Check ebay. There was a recent Collectors with a starting bid of $600 in Boise. I would be happy to check it out for you if it's still available.

The '94 and '95 are very similar, but their rosettes are a little different, and their electronics are different as well. I like what the '95 has to offer better.

There was a 2000 Collectors on eBay this week for $600, but the seller pulled the auction to relist with better pics. I'm working on that one, but they haven't re-listed yet.

That's the one in Boise. Let me know if you want me to check it out. I won't buy it out from under you, because my wife would kill me, so you're safe. Maybe he'd take less if you save him the ebay fees. That's how I got my 99, after nobody bid the opening of $600, also because of lousy pictures. I have a few guitar boxes that we'd like to get rid of, too.

If you don't mind, take a look for me. I'd like a second opinion. Make sure to look for any signs of long term problems like neck twist or the bridge pulling up from the top or anything like that.

Did you check out the link I posted from Craiglist with the '95 collectors?

Yes, I sent the seller of the '95 an email, but I have yet to hear from him. Hopefully he will reply soon.

Thanks for the link!

Just curious.

I will look at the one in Boise on Saturday, when the listing expires on ebay. Assuming I like it and nobody makes the minimum bid, let me know if you want to make the seller an offer. It is a pawn shop a couple miles from my house. The new pictures aren't much better than the last.

Yeah, I know...the pictures they emailed me are the ones from the first auction.

Still haven't heard from the guy on craigslist.

The 2000 is still there. $600 would probably take it.
