The only down side to this of course is that there is now one more Banjo player in the world!

The funeral was indeed a professional service, but it happened to be for someone who was also my friend. These things happen....

As to the frightening increase in the number of banjo players, I believe The Book of Uncommon Prayer has a rite of exorcism that might be applicable.

To Briwilt: congratulations on the purchase!

You'll have to tell us all about it after it arrives!

Good for you Bro!

p.s. I was off by $12 bucks on my guess.
Yes, and I thank you and the others for your input. Very happy I found this forum too, by the way.

As for the banjo, I always wanted to play one but decided against it at an early age since I realized I could never finger pick fast enough to keep up with Earl Scruggs. I guess this is why I mostly use a flat pick, which I sometimes have to duct tape to my hand to prevent droppage. :D

I'll give a full report after it arrives, hopefully in one piece. Stay tuned!

by the way...it was about the same amount ($12 bucks) that I was outbid on a 1537, so I guess $12 bucks can be alotomoney!
