I have a Trekker. My Niece wants to start her son playing guitar. He is 6. They are asking me for advice on what to get. They have been looking at the short scale no-name guitars at Walmart. I think they should get a Trekker or baby M/T (preferrably the Trekker for ruggedness).

Does anybody have one? Price (preferrably around the $100 mark).

A friend of mine who is a wonderful guitarist began playing at age 6--on a uke. Small, not heavy, a good fit for small hands. When he was a little bigger, his folks got him a 3/4-size guitar, and then finally a full-size classical. it's just a thought....
