Just a heads up guy's I could not wait for this one. Am trying to move it quickly. It is a beauty and for you guy's I will let you know the reserve is $1000.00 and if a current member in the club buy's this BIN I will knock off $100 and still ship it free...as long as I do not have to bother with Paypal fee's... Can't beat that with a stick! check it out these are always worth a look. I know....I am a little much sometimes. I am always multitasking. It is the only way I can keep up with myself!

Revised price. I think I was making people dig a little to deep. This is a courtesy message just wanted you all to know there are changes to the pricing. That's what we do here. Play, Own, Buy, Sell and talk Ovations.

Ok, does that mean that we can buy it for $900? Does that include shipping?

Thanks,
Mark

Well the auction is posted?? subtract $100 from the BIN price. the end result is I will end up with around 1K for a guitar that is worth around 1K. IF I am lucky it may go a little more.
It's an offer no one else has, just this bunch.

Wow what can I say, must be a bad week. OR month. should have known I watched an Adamas 2 go for $780 bucks in great shape last week. Next month same guitar will go for $1,100.

I'll try mine again I guess, But things are slow.

Hey North, FYI, I just "sold" my Caddy Green 1769 (also in near mint condition)Custom Legend to Guitar Center for just short of $900. They only offered me $700 a couple of years ago when I took it in for appraisal, and knowing how people either love or hate the Caddy Green, I decided to do it. Good luck with yours!

Went for $660.00 no one wanted to bother rnning it up toward it's reserve and I am too chicken to run it without one. Anyone want a wonderful Deep Bowl CUSTOM LEGEND Bl/Gr for $900.00 this is a $1,000.00 most days. More when Ebay is running high.

Sorry, Randy. Your 30th just arrived and it is gorgeous. I think this will be the only CL I need. Hardly a dent in the box. UPS did well on this one. Someday for some special occasion, I'll take it and a couple others back to the factory and have them fix the cracks. Thanks again.

If any guitar ever deserved to be repaired this is it! That is a great guitar and that little crack where it got tagged needs to go away. I sure hope you can find the time to let it out and give the factory guys the time to do their brand of magic! Glad you got that guitar. UPS takes longer to make it to IDAHO than it does to ship to Califonia.

Enjoy Mark. Glad you got it.

Now I need to find someone else who knows these Custom Legends are fantastic and worth what I am asking. $900 is a hell of a deal. Only because I have a promise to buy another guitar this week that I would under-sell it like this.

Yep, $900 is a great deal on any CL. Unfortunately for us CL enthusiasts, we seem to be the only people who really appreciate them. Who knows, maybe all the inlay is just too flashy for most people. In fact, that's part of the reason why I said goodbye to mine after almost 7 years - I outgrew the flashiness of it and wanted to "simplify".

It will be interesting to see what Guitar Center gets for it.

Custom Legends are not fading away. this is just a bad week. Ebay is strange. There will be twenty bidders three weeks from now and I will hit my reserve or BIN right out of the gate. It just goes this way sometimes. And now that I play a little more at small gig's I'd have to say I appreciate the flash these have. They stand out and attract attention. This is good when your performing. It is all part of the show. People talk about your performance better if it was something that looked and sounded better than they expected. I just have to be patient, and I can be but I have another guitar calling my name...and my name is Youuuu Neeeed Meeeeee! and I in fact...Do!

Randy, a pretty nice CL just went on ebay for $575 with only one bid. Not a good time to be selling, apparently.

I would be very surprised if the reserve was met on that one.
I mentioned this recent Ebay phenomenon to my wife as she was passing by the computer and she said. "All the Women finally got fed up and killed all the guy's who buy guitars!"

CL too flashy? Ha! I still have mine, but I went flashier with a red flame Elite T and just ordered an orange sparkle flame Elite T as my gigging guitars!

Listed it again. Hoping it will get more than one bid this time and not die at $500. Man these guitars are fantastic and well worth the $950 reserve I have on it. Have an old Epiphone double neck going as well cheap. just a heads up something to look at. Randy

Wow another try at selling a custom legend. Like mine there are others that do not go off with the reserves met or no bids at all. Guess these Legends are junk. No interest anywhere. ??? never seen this much tumbleweed on my auctions before. Anyone want it cheap. I be selling it locally soon. I do not want it and although it is a certainly a great guitar they seem to have no resale value. I can't hold on it for years like a dealer to get my best price.

Don't be discouraged. This is the Pre Christmas sale- Sale period and the market is glutted.

There is also the Have to Sell/No Buyers ratio that fires up when I need the dollars.

Try you local Craigslist as well.

I know it Mike and Thanks for the note. It is such a small probelm considering the world and it's events at every turn, believe me I know.
I have just never seen high end Ovations go so cheap as they have these months. Makes me nervous. Had a local GUitar shop called "The Only Guitar Shop" go out of business this week. Almost had my partner talked into an Ovation but they actually had Taylors on sale at 40% off list!!!!! He bought a new $3,500 guitar for $2,300 with tax. I have to say this guitar sounded better than the $5,000 900 series Taylor with the inlays on it. I will do a comparison soon with the Adamas. I'll tell ya I never saw a Taylor on sale anywhere anytime????

Randy, I was sort of in the market for a Legend until you sold me your Custom Legend, which I am really enjoying. You never know when the buyer and seller will match up. I have watched a few on ebay that nobody bids on the first couple of times. Then on the third sale, when I jump in thinking I'm going to get a good deal, someone else ends up with it for more than the minimum bid on the first sale. Just never know. Don't give it away, unless it's to a good cause.

I am glad you got that CL Mark I sure hope that little ding does not bother you the way it did me. Great guitar either way, and the Mothership should be able to do something wonderful with it I would think.
I guess I should not be so impatient but I have just never delt with not being able to sell an instrument fairly quickly for somewhere near it's fair market value ever before. This Custom Legend is one of the very best Ovation makes, and to see it get bids that end at $525 well that takes the wind out of ya considering it is worth twice that. No matter, this is just whinning! No doubt. I am sure it will sell eventually.
..
By the way that second "Taylor", my partner got the other day, is a perfect rival to the Adamas. Each of ours has it's individual characteristic tone and the sounds they make, as usual, comes down to personal preference. For me the look of the Adamas is unrivaled. Aaron likes the more traditional look so just to let you know there is Peace & Respect between the two camps and the stage set up looks pretty impressive! If I had to go for a traditional guitar for my money the Taylor would be it. They are very nice guitars and priced comparable to their sound quality. From the Martins, we both tried for comparison, they seemed fairly well over priced but no doubt great great guitars.
So anyone looking for a fantastic Custom Legend in the Black/Green scheme email me. It will be the best price this one will ever go for while I still have it.

What's funny to me is that I've been to both the Ovation and Taylor factories and there's more hand work in the Ovations. Public perception is quite different from reality.
