Hi all -
Circumstances beyond my control have led me to put my black 1619 up for sale. The serial number indicates that it was built in 1982, however in the Spring of 2005 I had the factory install an OP Pro preamp. While at the factory it also had some minor fretwork done and a new nut added. They also cleaned it up real nice for me.

Obviously the new preamp erases any vintage appeal it may have had, but it makes it a better guitar IMHO, and I never dreamed I would be selling it.

The guitar has a few minor scratches on the top, some pickwear on the rosette, and a tiny ding on the headstock (all made by yours truly as I am the original owner), but is still in very good shape (to me) for a guitar pushing 25. I thought of putting it on eBay after the holidays, but want to offer it here first because I hope someone who's knowledgeable about Ovations and really appreciates it will end up with it.

I was thinking of offering it on eBay for about $900, based on the prices I've seen similar instruments go for (and also to recoup a little of the cost for the preamp) but I would sell it for significantly less to someone from the club.

If anyone is interested or knows someone that may be, please e-mail me and I'll send pictures from any angles requested ('cause I can't figure out how to attach 'em here). If anyone lives in the NY-NJ-Conn Metro area and wants to come check it out and play it I would do that too. I also realize this is a pretty tough time to buy with the holidays just around the corner, but if someone has a genuine interest I would even hold off selling it until that person is ready.

Thanks, Tom

Hi LeftyThatPlaysRighty -

I sent 8 pictures in four separate emails because the files are big. I've had instances in the past where I've emailed pictures of this size and they were not received(but got no notice that they were rejected), so if you did not get them or need other angles or lighting, let me know.

Thanks, Tom

Hi all -

Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest. The guitar is now comfortably residing at the home of an esteemed member of the OFC.

Happy it stayed in the family.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Tom
