Thought I'd post this here as well as the Bulletin Board:

I've got GAS. Yep. But I have no cash to satisfy my "need".

I've been toying with the following idea in order to scrape up the funding for the guitar(s) I want to get:

I have a pristine Ovation 2001 Collector's Redwood (#293) that I got from St. Al.(see it in my photo album). It is not getting much (very seldom) playing time because my playing "out" is mainly Rest Homes and campfire singing and they are really much too dangerous venues to safely play the Redwood.

So, IF I decide to sell the Redwood in order to get 1)Epiphone Emperor Archtop Jazz box and 2)a decent Classical/Flamenco guitar, what would be the approximate asking price for the Redwood???

I'll keep the two Balladeers I have for the Rest Home gigs and add the Jazz box to that mix and the Classical to the periodic Church "Specials".

I haven't decided and won't put it on Ebay, but would offer it here first. I'd even consider hand delivery to OFC members in Southern California.

So, whatcha think?

Tim;

If I had the cai$h, I'd snatch it up in a minute!!

The '01 is my FAVE Collector's, and I personally know for a fact that yours is an exquisite example.
I played your guitar when I first met Al ((all those years ago) before you bought it . . .

GoodLuck (sniff) with the Sale.

That's a beautiful guitar! I hope someone has the income tax return coming so they can snag it.

Tim,

I saw three 2001 Collector's pass thru the Bay last year, and I think all three of them went in the $750-800 range... I would consider that a bare minimum.

Tdeej bought the pristine one from Miles' collection.. you might check with him, that'll be a more realistic price point.

You'd have to pry mine from my cold, dead fingers.

PS - You're our Redwood poster boy, you can't sell it!!

Tim,

Thanks. I just got back from visiting an elderly couple,( They're both 92), at a nursing home. Unfortunately separate ones so my wife and I pick up the wife and take her to see her husband. Sing a couple of old hymns, chat a little then leave them for some time together. Take her back and come home to highjack your thread.

Nice guitar.

FYI, I've just created a new "Album" in the Gallery that only has pictures of the Redwood in it... for your viewing pleasure.

That's a really sweet guitar. I trust you'll be able to leverage it into what you want, instead.
