sweet bass. My research leads me to believe that it's actually a Typhoon III, mostly because my Fretless states Typhoon III on the label. :) but in any case, this is a nice looking guitar.

Just found this site after I bid on that fretless Typhoon bass on Ebay. I've been living in a Rickenbacker world for quite a few years (73 FL} now
But I've been craving a hollowbody sound for awhile now. If I grab this baby..I'll have some questions since I'm not all that familiar with Ovation basses. ;)

Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome. DVD I'm in the Johns Landing area. Glad to know there's some Portlanders here.
After some research I think the Typhoon1 only had one pup so maybe this one is a II or III. But I really don't know.

Sorry Northcounry, but I used to own a Rick 5 string..man now they go for about 2K. I found the spacing pretty tight on them but they are cool with their toaster neck pup. These days I just have my '73 mapleglo 4001 frettess, and a Rick "Shadow" 4003. I'll keep an eye out for ya tho...

II and III are essentially the same except the III was/is Fretless, as you now know.

Somehow I always felt that a fretless with fret markers was cheating even if the sound was the same.
