I've got the Demon Deacon which has a slightly storied history, rare gloss black body, and altogether unique appearance. While not a true vintage axe, it's an all original Deacon Deluxe in near perfect condition with like new original electronics, so I'm figuring it would fetch about a grand. That's hypothetical, so let's not argue the price at this point. That's enough to get an Elite T, or slightly used other Elite or maybe a used Collectors, don't you think? I'd still have the Viper, which is sweet, and I don't have to worry about dinging it, since it has about 30 tiny dings and scratches already. I cringe at the thought of parting with my first O and being Deaconless, but my question is... has anyone faced the same question? Is there a pro/con case we can build? Honestly, I'm not about to pull the trigger, but wondering aloud. Jas

A dilema only you can decide. Dave

It must not have been memorable for me, because the only thing I remember about it is getting my AARP membership. Getting a new guitar to celebrate is a good idea, but not if you have to sell the old standby to do it.

I don't regret selling my Squier, but I do regret selling my American Standard Strat. I even sorta regret selling my Univox LP. This may be very telling: I got a PM asking what it looked like. My reply: Like pretty much the coolest guitar ever made. So, Zilla, I have to conclude that I really do love it. I love my Deacon, and I don't care who knows... (don't tell my wife). So I guess my plan is... I've 3 years to find the right deal on a new guitar. Sounds doable.

Hang it up on the wall and you'll have fond memories every time you stop to admire it. Add a few banners, metal signs and maybe a neon sign (or twenty) and you'll have your own world class Deacon shrine.

Keep it to hand down to your son or some other deserving relative. By the way, I'm available for adoption. ;-) And who cares if it gets a few dings along the way. They will be part of your history with the guitar.

Some rub wear on the back of the neck. 4 number serial.. after one letter. Brass bridge pieces. I'd say a hard 7 out of 10 condition. In need of a setup... notes don't ring on the high E from the 15th fret up. Otherwise it's "playing" GREAT - has a good feel. All electronics work perfect. Two of the tuners are a little hard to turn. He's asking $700.00 plus tax. Is that reasonable even though it's not a Deacon? I'm in a quandry here! hahhaaa! Thanks! Michael Joseph Kramer

But fortunately, I am blessed enough to own more than one, so I do have the others to keep me company.
