I was going to wait on selling any more guitars until the fall, but, hey, things come up.

Offering my 3-bolt, mid-1990s ASAT Classic in the original Tobacco Burst (not that terrible, darker finish that they call Tobacco Burst these days!) for sale.

It is in very good condition, having only a small (smaller than a match head) impression on the front just below the bridge and the usual pick scratching on the pickguard (not on the body).

Asking $725 including (FedEx) shipping. Would prefer USPS Money Order, but I can do PayPal if you pay 1/2 of the fees. I will also ship any way you prefer, as long as you cover the difference in shipping charges. Lastly, I would consider trading for a Heritage H-140 or H-150. We would have to work out any cash differential due you, of course.

Good looking finish. Ever think to switch the plate around and have the volume knob firts, then tone and then the switch. Much easier to do volume swells.

I love G&L guitars, and have had several ASATs over the years. Dollar for dollar, they have been much better guitars than American series Fenders.

Good luck on a successful sale!

Thanks, Bill. Tim @ Buffalo Bros. has claimed that the original Tobacco Burst was the most popular of the premium finishes. Until BBE changed it to that dark color they have now (and also made it a standard finish option). I toyed with the idea of flipping the plate, but seeing as I have a hard enough time just picking, let alone doing volume swells, it would have been purely cosmetic. ;)

Thanks for the luck, Paul. I've owned a few G&Ls and they have all been exceptional instruments. The G&L factory had their first 'open house' this past June. I wish I could've made it, but I had to pick between the OFC tour and theirs. ;) Dave McLaren is trying hard to do right by the customers, which says a lot about the company, I think.

That's a nice looker, Crust.

(Are 'magentic' pickups better than plain old magnets?)

Oh, hell no, man. They're just a different shade! :cool:

Magenta + magnetic == Magentic!

I corrected the typo, too. ;)
