Serial number says it's a 1968. Frets look very nice. Don't see any tarnish on the hardware. Wasn't there an original tremelo bar?
Interesting item for opening an ebay store...

Ahh I know everyones ear is slightly different but do these sound anything like the old Gibson semi's ?? or is the electronics and pick system quite different on these?
I won't mention what I think of the foolish practice of selling big ticket items on ebay with no feedback. Whoops I said it, I said it again! I can't stop saying it..............

They sound quite different from a 335. The middle of these bodies is hollow and the 335 is solid. Also 335s have humbuckers and these are a single coil. And then there's the issue of a bolted neck vs a solid glue joint. These would be closer to an old Guild, although those were glued as well.

Guild is good..... Luv the Deacon I blundered into from Sam that thing is just plain "fun". I'll bet this old semi would be a pleasant surprise.
I would want to find out about the parts though. I am looking at this like it is all original and what looks like #9 condition from the photo's.

It has me athinkin!

I'm pretty sure the Thunderhead Deluxe came with Gold Schaller Tuners. My 'Nutmeg '68 has them. Tuppy would know for sure.

Thanks for the heads up on this one Jim. I think I'll see how the price goes for a few days. I don't think it's going to go real high.It does have some issues.
I am really trying to save for the 2079.

The seller on this, while new to eBay, is a long established music store in Pacifica, CA (just south of SF). I've been in there before and seemed to be quite respectable, although they are a general music store, not really a guitar store. I'm heading off to Salt Lake City so I can't do it, but maybe there's someone else in the OFC who can stop by and check it out if you're interested. Or you could probably call them and get an in-hands description from them ... you can probably google them and get the phone number.

Tuners have been changed. It would have originally come with Ovation logo'd tuners. Some very early ones (pre-moustache) had Grovers. Dave

I think those tuners are original. My T-head has these. They are early Schaller M6 with a slightly different button shape to the current model.

I think those tuners are original. They didn't start with the Ovation logo at first.
