My neighbor invited me over to see her mother's old electric guitar. It is an Ovation Thunderhead, semi-hollow! By going to the ovation site I found out it was manufactured in the late 60s based on a serial number of E05I.

It is in great shape, but was knocked over and the tremelo right angle piece broke. Two questions....

Where could I go to find a replacement piece?

Does this guitar have any collectible value?

I just took it to get the neck adjusted, frets checked and restrung. Does anyone have any comments on this guitar before I get it back and put it through the paces?

Thanks.

Dan, welcome!

You can search ebay to get a rough sense of what they are going for. Not particularly collectable, but there is interest in them out there.

Post pics and maybe somebody can help with the trem. You might be able to find somebody around here with a part. Not sure if the Ovation factory in CT would have any hollowbody parts hanging around anymore. Worse case, you might have to replace the trem with a Bigsby or something.

Miles (Mr. Ovation) might have your parts or know where to find them. But he's busy getting ready for an invasion right now.

I might think to ask him when showing off my own T-head. Pics are required with any question, house rule I just made up.
