He could make much worse deals than this one...I wish I could do it. The 2080 is a fantastic guitar, it's a great price and I would buy almost anything from Waskel... ;)

Tom, 1581's have the older A2 texture tops. If I'm not mistaken, the only difference between the A1's and A2's was the "trim" - carved bridge & headstock, binding, etc.

Trader Jim,

Despite popular belief I actually do sell some of my guitars too. I sold 3 over the last few weeks : a 1966 Fender Electric XII ; A white Gibson Firebird Reissue and a Reissue Gretsch Duojet. I'll probably now sell my Standard Balladeer to make room for the 2080 !

Regards,

Tom

Andrew,

Thank you for clarifying that for me.

Congratulations Doc! Glad to see this beauty stay in the family.

BTW - I'm glad you didn't post your Firebird re-issue here, I've been wanting one for a while, but can't afford any impulse guitar buying!

Weaser P,

Thank you , I will let you know what I think of the sound and the playability.

I wasn't at all impressed with the looks of this guitar at first. It took me some time to warm up to it. But once I did, I started wondering why I didn't like it at first sight.

As some have mentioned , I guess it grows on you.I think I thought it it looked a little too avante gard/futuristic at first. Now I just think it looks pretty cool. I'm sure the looks will make it a conversation piece. The various threads and discussion about this model made it easy to love as well.

So I will patiently await it's arrival and then post my thoughts.

Regards,

Tom

You know, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a streamlined version of what Rainsong and Composite Acoustics have been doing with carbon fiber for a while now. Crisp, sharp looks with a killer neck and top-notch electronics...

wait a minute, why don't I own one of these?

Designzilla,

Thank you. I hear you about the impulse buying; I've gotten to the point where I really need to sell off some guitars before buying new ones !! Never thought I'd say that !!

Tom

Waskel,

The 2080 has arrived and been welcomed into the family. I just posted my first impressions in the "General" section. Needless to say this guitar is amazing. Thank you very much,

Regards,

Tom
