This 1617 Legend in burst looks really nice, and with just a few hours to go it's still under $300. I got one a couple months ago and it's become my goto guitar. It's a boomer, and the ZillaFest attendees played it & liked it. This would make a good get for someone here.

What's with the Label? Why is it a Special Guitar and what does the SS mean, because the bowl isn't super shallow. Different shade burst maybe?

Looks like it might be a mid-depth bowl. Plus the neck is all black (can't see the skunk stripe), unlike the burst neck on mine. Still, a great price right now.

The label indicates a non-production guitar. The s/n is actually the date it was made ie June 16, 1981.

My guess is that the model number actually says 5S, not SS. Maybe 5S means a black edged sunburst ??? Just a guess.

If this is anything like g8r's, it's a great guitar! Looks like it might go for a great price too.

LBJ, ask them if they would ship with USPS which is much cheaper (usually about $100 for an O/A to Europe).

Did you notice the Canadian 1114-4 with aftermarket pickup currently for sale on ebay? Maybe it's of interest to you.

No, I'm a Southener (more precisely from Bavaria). Do you also show up at this place every once in a while?

The picture of the volume control & strap button confuses me ! Was it meant to be a L/H model ?

Non-cutaway have the strap button below the neck. It balances better, and doesn't get in the way of the volume control.
