Location: big island | i was thinking' about getting this one as i need a decent six stringer for gigs here in hawaii. i'd prefer to spend $405 instead of $600 but this is the best price i have seen so far. BTW, what preamp is probably on this? |

Location: Warren,Pa. | I bet it's an Op-30. I don't see that big volume knob on the OpPro sticking out. Can't tell if it's LX or not. You'd need to be able to see if there's a truss rod cover or not. The LX would be a lighter guitar, and the neck profile would be different.

Location: CA | I paid about $550 for my 'T' a year or so ago. These are terrific guitars for this price range — maybe the best. I love almost everything about mine — neck, midbowl, action, sound, OP30. And though I can't say I'm really crazy about the 'Terminator' look, I'm at least getting used to it. And I never have to worry about 'pick scuffing'. |

If it's a newer model, it might have one.

I thought all the flame paint job Elite-T's were LX's and all the solid Elite-T's black, red and pewter were non-LX's.

Location: closely held secret | As John said, there's no OP-Pro knob. The only other preamp I've seen on these is the 30.
Dave, I think you're right.
I do seem to remember seeing one of the original flames that wasn't LX, but it might have been at the factory (and anything is possible there). |

Location: Utah | New Elite T's used to go for about $850 plus tax etc, but now are higher at GC when they have one.
No room for a wider nut on that neck.
I would strongly suspect it is fan bracing, non LX. My daughter's 1778T Red Flame is the Op30 with the truss rod cover, just like the one in the auction. It definitely has non-LX bracing. The newer version had the OpPro and unknown bracing.
IMO, if the guitar is indeed in "rarely played" condition, it is a very nice guitar for $600. Whether there are better prices out there I dunno. But I don't think you'd be disappointed with the guitar unless the nut width is a deal breaker. |
