The very early Adamas II guitars didn't have a suspended top ring but a cheap plastic ring . To my knowledge they tried to make the Adamas II less expensive but the solution didn't prove one's worth. So they soon (between s/n 1500 and 2000) switched to the suspended top ring know from the Adamas I model. The plastic ring models are very rare (I'm happy to own one) so they are of value for a real collector. But if you prefer quality choose the suspended ring model (you also get a deeper bowl with it!). Karl

I have a 1681 two-knob like that." (brief pause; neurons fire) "My wife has been using that digital camera a lot lately." (momentary panic) And then remembered that I *just* saw it on the stand in the bedroom. Actually I've been watching this one. And our flooring isn't quite like that. And mine is still on the stand. But, she has been taking a lot of pictures. And screwing around with Photoshop. Hrmmm.
