Good luck with the auction. Good price for a good guitar.

But I do have a question. If your wife limits you to only 6 guitars at a time, why do you stay married to her?

I can answer that one. We met her at Zilla's house and she is a very nice lady. Mine started with the 6 guitar rule, but it gradually went up from there. ;)

Mine argued that I didn't need 2 guitars when I bought my first 12 string. Then is was 3, then 5 and so on. Now look. Eventually, we all break down to relentless pressure. Unfortunately for me, I was the last to break down and we are getting new bedroom furniture. But I'll show her. I won't make the bed.

She puts up with all my quirks (not just guitars), she's a wonderful mother to our son, an excellent chef, smart as hell (a PhD in biomedical sciences), my best friend, and guitars just aren't as cuddly or smell near as nice. :D ;)

Oh, yeah - like Mark, I started out with a 2-guitar rule, too. Eventually you can wear 'em down. (Flowers and jewelry help).

But, jeez, she limits you to only six guitars at a time! I'd seriously worry about that, regardless of her good qualities......

Wait a sec...I resemble that remark....I wonder why she didn't talk to me much in Orlando. I thought it was just the poor guitar playin.

Good thing, for y'all, that there is a fine place for higher education in Gainesville...that's right, Santa Fe College, that is where y'all work, isn't it?...never could remember their nickname though. :D :D :p

Go Gators (BS/Journalism, class of '81). Is UF still a party hearty school? Bob Hope did a routine the Gator Growl (world largest pep rally) when I was there and the joke I remember best was:

"I was admiring your beautiful clock tower. Did you know that for every virgin that graduates, a brick falls out of the tower? I hear its the safest place on campus."

I'm sure he said that at every university. But it was still pretty funny.

Go Gators, Oddball! I'm BS/Microbiology '82 and MS/Computer Science & Engineering '01.

I remember that Growl - not one of the best, since Hope was filming one of his TV specials and we had to keep cheering the same joke over and over until the producers were satisfied with the take. My favorite Growl performer was Robin Williams, but that was later.

Remember the Halloween Ball? Stuff like that never happens anymore, people are more serious now. Most of the partying that goes on is of the binge drinking/rave variety. I think FSU now has the rep as the leading party school in the state, but only because everybody knows that UF's academic programs blow FSU out of the water!

Mrs. g8r is PhD/05 from UF, but did her undergrad at South Carolina - hence the jab at BegginJim. And yes, the clock tower is still the safest place on campus!

G8r,
I was (some would say unfortunately) married when I went to UF, so didn't attend the Halloween Ball. I know UF had a pretty good rep academically (especially the school of journalism) even way back when, but their sports accolades were only recent. Jimmy Buffett came to play one time and after the cheering died down for the first song, he said, "What are you guys clapping about, your 1-11!" Ha ha ha. I do recall that the school somehow got ahold of the 20-ft rubber 'gator that had been used in the 'GATOR' horror flick, so the pep rallies and bling was there, but the football team stunk. Good memories all around.

BUMP. Re-listed on eBay because of a non-paying bidder. Original offer to OFCers still holds. Hi-res pics here.

Serge, that stinks. You haven't had very good luck on the bay lately. Hope you can move it.

Yeah, by the time I read this, it was gone. Guess it wasn't bought by an O'Cultist, cuz that was way above the OFC discount.

I just bought me a Poor Man's Tak... Then I see Greg's (gh1) 1995 Collectors' for $300, and now this.

 [it's OK, I can't play anyway :p ]
