For my daughter's upcoming Sweet 16 this summer, I want to give her a nice Breadwinner, Deacon, or Preacher. If it is in nice condition for a reasonable price, we can do that.

Or, suitable for renovation is ideal. Major finish problems, missing electronics, etc are fine. Partial guitars are fine, too. I intend to refinish it and replace the pickguard, pickups, and other hardware as necessary to make it like new.

I would like a very nice neck. Needing refretting is ok, but the fretboard has to be in very good condition and no major dents on the neck. Missing or damaged tuners are ok, too. They can be replaced. Maple fretboard would be ideal.

I'll need a case, too.

I'm willing to pay reasonable prices commensurate with the condition of the items.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but ran across these while searching other things.

The Preacher is a dee-lux. Has every electronic option known to man.

True, it is a deluxe but the switches above the pups are usually found only on UKII's not deacon/preacher deluxes.

Here's one from the famous "Mr. Ovation" collection that looks like it has the switches:

I think I saw a Breadwinner or Deacon on the CL board in Alaska too.

That Deacon on the Denver Craigslist has been listed and relisted for quite some time now. I'd love to find a Deacon (that I can afford) and have seen that one several times. I would have expected it to have been grabbed by someone from this list!

Probably because it's not original.
Has been fitted with Humbuckers and coil taps or phase switches by the look of it.
Not far off the money though especially with case.

That Preacher in Denver looks interesting enough that I've emailed the seller. We'll see what he'll do with the price. I'm still interested in building something up, though.'

EBay's gone a bit whacko with Breadwinner and Deacon prices. It looks like the exchange rate is part of the culprit.
