I've been watching that one hoping to get a big brother for my Tornado but wasn't sure what the availability and cost would be to replace that pup and get a pickguard for it. Any ideas?

pickguard replacement is easy.. personally I'd leave it off... the pickup can be rewound. I think these were made by DeArmond, but might be JR's design..

needs a TRC.. and edit.. the pickup ring I have one of those.. it has a crack but it's all there.

that's a NICE looking T'Head.

That is nice. Replace the surround, fix the switch (easy fix...) and you have a piece of history along with one of the few, if not the only, original Thunderhead cases still in existence. :)

I would highly recommend getting a new case from Alpep and saving the one that comes with it.

Lucky me , I think,!! I contacted the seller on this one and struck a deal with him...I am very excited about getting this guitar....Is the switch going to be easy to fix? and what about the pick up ring? He is shipping the guitar out today..

Looks like 2stix might be a little upset. I hope not...The reason I agressively went after this guitar is because it is identical to the one my Dad had in the late sixties. He had to sell it to feed his punk kid,...ME!!. I did work out a deal with the seller and that is why he canceled the auction. I should receive the guitar by Monday of next week. This guitar will be my Dad's 70th Birthday gift on March 20th this year...I'm looking forward to seeing the look on his face when he get's it. I apoligize to anyone bidding on this guitar but at least it will stay in the OFC Family.

Peace
Keith

That's a great cause indeed. You're a better son than I. I try to steal dad's guitars as often as possible.

You all wouldn't be interested, wood boxes. :D

I'm particularly fond of his 60's Hummingbird. Man that thing is sweet sounding.

That is a great idea....I will post a couple of pics of him on his birthday. He does still play and sings wonderfully...Old country, Jim Reeves, Eddie Arnold, Marty Robbins etc....Thanks guys..
