I am wanting to purchase this guitar as my very first, and actually ran into it at a pawnshop today. This very color. The weird thing is that it is listed as brand new and looks flawless, but I read they were discontinued?? FWIW this pawn shop does stock new and used guitars. It is currently on sale for $380. Any idea how this guitar is new and also, is that a fair price for it?

It's possible that there are new ones sitting around even though they are discontinued. Al Pepiak had a new 2004 30th Anniversary Custom Legend recently that some other dealer had sitting in his shop for years.

This is a good buy AJ I saw that MOB57 ad and couldn't believe the price! Did it sell? I can't find the posting now. What makes them so expensive 'down under'? I have a 9.5+ MOB47 (mid depth) and case I picked up recently for $250US ($261aud). I ordered a new piezo and a black compensated saddle to match the bridge. Yes, I kept all the original parts... I was going to use it as my 'outback' git. I'll have to reconsider unless I'm mistaking the info in the ad. BTW, nice collection you have listed!

Plus if the cost of guitar and shipping combined is more than $1000 AUD (around $900USD) You have to pay 5% import duty and then an extra 10% tax on top of the lot. I doubt if the MOB got a bid. I like the red one Woody has for sale. AJ

I DO appreciate the 'overseas' viewpoints, collections and difficulties! Without getting too political, your situation sure does make me cherish what's left of our crippled capitalistic republic!!! ...that's not even counting our 2nd Amendment! ...now back to ovationb 's regular programming... :D
