Location: East Wenatchee, WA | Just took a break at work and pulled a shim (thing looked like a 2x4) and the action now easily rivals my W597 which was like a finely massaged electric.
No buzz (but again, no pick yet) with the action low, fast and smooth. |

I vaguely remember an earlier discussion about this, but I thought it was more of a shiney spot on a dull finish, rather than a dull spot on a shiney finish. You might do a search and see. You are right....it was asked about in the post on another '08, but the conclusion was that they were looking at the pick guard. However, I see the same discoloration/variance, on Dave's pictures (it was Dave right? ) so it must be how they applied the finish.
Not terribly noticable, but you can definately see it. |

My first HUGE shock that I never noticed in the pictures before is that it has no access panel on the back. Huh?!? Having used that panel to change batteries on my 1537, then to swap out the electronics on my 2080, I was quite stunned to see no removable manhole cover. How do they deal with repairs? Remove the top? That struck me as very curious. I suspect this also accounts for a lot of the weight reduction in the body of the guitar. It would be a tight fit, but perhaps they'd just pop out the preamp and the preamp can and work through there. |
