Location: Delaware | Can't speak for for the GC 1627, but I really like my Balladeer 1612, and Legend 1717, unplugged they really put out (they're deep bowls) and sound great plugged in too. |

Location: SoCal | They sound great. As a shallow (essentially a mid depth bowl), they don't put out quite as much volume as a deep bowl, but with the A braced top, the sound is, IMHO, rich, mellow, and smooth (much better sound than the old VT braced guitars). And the redesigned electronics are wonderful. Another board member, in Florida, who, after selling most of his O's, bought one after hearing mine. For all of his live performances (and it's what he does for a living), he's put aside his D-28 and J-45 and just plays the GC reissue.
I'm fortunate that I have a number of O's and A's, but if I had to live with it as my sole 6 string, I'd be just fine with it.

Location: Madison, Wis | I have both, a 1112 Balladeer (round hole), and a 2007 BCS Collectors. The sound is different, but still the sound is great from my old Balladeer. And they are much improved since I got mine in 1975. So in my opinion the round hole Ovation has a great sound to it. |
